Tropical Fuck Storm Share New Single “Legal Ghost”

It’s clear that “Tropical Fuck Storm” isn’t just a one-off project. The band haven’t slowed down since the release of their debut album A Laughing Death In Meatspace back in 2018. Releasing a follow-up titled Braindrops the following year, and now gearing to release their third album later this year, these oddballs are here to stay for awhile. Yesterday the band released their new single “Legal Ghost,” a chilling tune that will appear on their upcoming album along with their previously released single “Suburbiopia.” “Legal Ghost” was originally a cut from member Gareth Liddiard’s “Bong Odyssey” project. About the decision to rework this cut from 1998, Liddiard has stated “It felt like something we could do, and I mean, no one ever heard it. It’s not like we were revisiting “Stairway to Heaven” or something like that. TFS has always come back around to that “Bong Odyssey” thing. If you’ve heard the “Bong Odyssey” stuff, it’s pretty out there, it’s more out there than “The Drones.” So we’re back to being that weird again.” The track will officially be released on September 11th via “Flightless Records,” and will also feature a b-side which is a cover of “Talking Heads'” “Heaven.” You can listen to “Legal Ghost” below:

“King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard” have shared a new song titled “Honey,” and it’s sure to please fans of Flying Microtonal Bananaan album that found the band exploring the many wonders of microtonal tuning. Though the track might come off as a b-side or a bonus track on a deluxe edition of the album, it still sounds very much like The Gizz, which is never a bad thing, and it takes us back to an era where the band were at the height of their creativity. I mean, the band released five albums in one year. Remember that? “Honey” also has a music video to accompany it, which according to the band was “shot at sunset during the apocalypse with a reeeeeeal long lens.” You can watch the music video for “Honey” below:

Australian Psychedelic/Prog outfit “King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard” took a well deserved break from releasing new music last year, because following a year where a band releases five damn albums that same year, one would assume said band would have to take some time off to recharge their batteries and, you know, sleep. It’s looking like the band have hit another spark of creativity though, because it has just been announced that the band will release a new album titled Fishing for Fishies on April 26th via “Flightless Records.” The album will feature the band’s previously released single “Cyboogie.” Pre-orders begin  Wednesday, March 13th.
